The McGrath Legacy
In 1946, a small Buick dealership opened in Elgin, Illinois. The Young dealer’s name was Leo McGrath. His business philosophy was simple, “Treat your customer as though they are special. Because they are.” Leo worked hard to offer a great buying experience for his customers and his dealership grew.
His son, Michael, soon joined him and quickly became a student of the business. Michael adopted the same strong work ethic as his father and invested in several dealerships of his own. He quickly gained a reputation as a fair and honest businessman who put people before profit. As the McGrath family of dealerships grew, Mike’s sons, Mike Jr. and Kevin joined the organization as dealer principles.
Today, the McGrath family operates six of the finest auto dealerships in the Chicagoland area. They include McGrath Lexus of Westmont, McGrath Acura of Westmont, McGrath Lexus of Chicago, McGrath Acura of Chicago, McGrath City Hyundai, McGrath City Honda, and McGrath Evanston Subaru.
